StructureA cantilever truss mounted as two cores
The structure of the Alphabetic Tower functions as a cantilever truss of 130 m in height and 31 m in diameter, divided into 11 modules. The behavior of cantilever truss is achieved through the pattern of the outer skin and core. The skin of these two elements is made with powerful columns and hollow circular section, thus working very efficiently and minimizing the amount of steel, improving the appearance of the structure.
Both systems are connected through diaphragms in star pattern each 10.8 m in height. At the top stands there is a glass sphere housing the restaurant, the observatory deck and TV studios. Its surface has LED lighting points on each vertex, creating the shape of the sphere at night. The tower is based on a foundation slab of 34 m in diameter and 4 m in height.
